Whilst perusing around last.fm tonight I stumbled across a bootleg of the Ryan Adams & the Cardinals show I went to last month. The quality is ridiculous, and you can thank the taper for that. It was an amazing set, complete with the “evening joke” and a story from Ryan Adams about going to Taco Bell while tripping on ’shrooms. Overall it was a great night despite my position behind an aisle where people were constantly getting up to go pee and get more beer. The Cardinals played a wide range of their material, featuring some new stuff from Cardinology, the classic “When the Stars Go Blue,” and amazing covers of Oasis’ “Wonderwall” and “Down in a Hole” by Alice in Chains. Included below are a variable-bit-rate and a compressed version of the show, both sound excellent.

French electronic duo Justice just released a live DVD/CD combo recorded on their 2008 North American tour. The DVD is a documentary of the tour, and the CD is from their performance in San Francisco this past spring. The evidence here points to an intense show; I can only imagine what a live performance must be like.

Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, John Frusciante, & Flea – Live at GT Graphics (2004)

This jam is beyond amazing… It’s Omar from The Mars Volta playing with John and Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, which is a deadly combo. They definitely deliver with “Peon Jam”, the other parts aren’t as impressive, but are still worth a listen if you’re a fan of these guys. If you’re familiar with The Mars Volta’s work, you can hear the guitar riff from 1:10 of “Tetragrammaton” being played on bass at 2:18 in “Peon Jam”.
